Will soon be changing out the stock cam chain tensioners to the SE hydraulic conversion. I already have the true duals, SE air cleaner and stage 1 download. While in there i want to do a cam change. I was looking at the Andrews TW37B, but in reading the specs it recommends a 9.0 to 9.5 compression ratio. My service manual says I have 9.0:1 but if I Google 06 ultra classic spec its says i have 8.9:1. So I am wondering which one is correct and if the Andrews TW37b work if i do in fact 8.9:1.
Andrews 37 is a good all around cam but needs 10-1 compression to really work. Without knowing your riding style, Andrews 26 is a real good choice in a stock 88." I'm sure you'll get lots of differing opinions on this, so be prepared for overload. Google a cam search for your bike and you'll find a lot of stuff already posted in here.
Don't waste ur time I ran that cam in a 88 and alone it feel stock unless you drive it like u stole it in peak numbers... I pulled them out and went with andrews 21 cams and they run strong!!
S&S .509 install in an 88"er a couple weeks ago.
94 ft/lbs, right where you need it.
Not a hp cam, but packs the torque in quickly.
The 37, while a great cam, is NOT the cam for a stock 88"er.
We've been using the 57's in some of our 98" combo's lately, with our Stage I and II Heads, at 98-10.0 cr.
