...for the love of God, why are some of you charging your battery 24/7...get those "trickle" charges OFF once in a while...there is NO NEED to plug those things in EVERY time the bike is parked...does any one do that with their car?... I am on year 9..yes 9..with my 05 battery...it's almost NEVER on a charge unless it's sitting... here in Mass..it's winter, so the charger only goes on about once every 2-3 weeks..when it shows green, it comes off the bike for 2-3 weeks...stop "cooking" your batteries..

Well all I can say is that in the last 4 brand new Harley's the OEM battery died in about a year. In fact the last was a week ago, on the 2012 I got a year and a half. After Harley replaces the battery they usually last 4 or 5 years.

Agreed re: 'trickle' chargers...which is why I use a Battery Tender...shuts off automatically, otherwise I would be cooking my battery also

Can u imagine jumping on a treadmill every time u ate? Batteries dont need 2 b charged everytime they r used. Battery tenders are constantly stimulating the battery. On-off-on-off. Not needed. Give the battery a break and you wont b buying them every 2 years(insane).
