Just got delivery to the house of a new bike. With the snow and ice outside it looks like I'm may just look at it for the next 3 months. Need help on something, my previous bikes you could hook up the trickle charger real easy. Based on the manual I had to pull off the bag and one of the side panels to charge. I did not want to pull on it, but can that wire extend so it cannot be behind that panel or do I have to pull the bag and panel off everytime I want to charge the battery. If thats the case, what a pain.
Yes, the wire can extend. When I picked my bike up I couldn't find the wire. The service guy came out, pulled off the cover, pulled the wire out, and put the cover back on with the wire sticking out. Don't know why they didn't just do that before delivery.
Our local dealership, Blue Ridge H-D in Hickory NC, is great about that. Every bike on the floor has the tender pigtail pulled out for easy access and so it can also be tucked in out of the way when not in use.
So new, no pictures yet. Just received it yesterday. If the snow melts this weekend in the northeast may get a ride in on Sunday. Its been real bad up here.
Just went from a 2008 Ultra Classic to the new 2014 Limited. Yes the handles look like you can flush a toilet, but they are tucked away, but on the other hand if I have to put something in my side case, I CAN. yes with out me or my wife getting off the bike, yes while sitting on it. :-) and yes there is a hole in the faring. and yes it does make the buffeting a thing of the past. The big stereo. Very cool. It's nice to know how long it's going to take to get there, and not have to stop to use your cell phone to let someone know we are going to be late. and it's nice to tell (voice command) my bike where I want to go and it finds and tells me how to get there. You classic people can rag on the new design all you want, but I think it still has a classic Harley look, but it is so much more up to date with technology available today. And I didn't even mention how much cooler it is. But then again you classic people probably like the 250+ degree heat rising up between your legs. Rag all you want. I love my new bike and I put 2000+ miles on it since October.
