It's not the lifters...it's .0002 wear in the rocker arms. It will take 300K to wear it .001. Next time you drain the oil, remove the plugs and ground the wires, crank it about 2 minutes. Replace the oil and filter. Start it up and, you will know what lifters sound like.
I really want to thank everyone who replied. Like I said the ticking noise is more of nuisance than anything else. When I posted this I figured either the majority of replies would say it was pretty much normal, or replacing the lifters would be the cure all. So like most of you have said, I'll ride it and keep a listen to it.
Thanks again Jonnierock
After 20,000 miles on my 2012 limited, it has pick up a slight ticking noise in the top end. Two Harley tech's have told me this is normal. After reading several threads here, there sounds like there might a slight chance that if I replace my lifters I might be able to reduce the noise. The noise really isn't to bad, it's more of a nuisance than anything, and really don't want to spend the money on lifters if it's not going to take care of my problem. Has anyone replaced their lifters because of the same problem that I have, and was happy that they did ? Also, has anyone put up with this noise for any amount of real time, and found out it's just that, a little noise.
Thanks In Advance Jonnierock
Dude, your bike is still new and under warranty, why would you want to tear into it? The ticking is just your bike singing to you, lol. Ride the **** out of it and try to blow it up while its still under the factory warrany. After your warranty runs out if its still doing it, then replace em with better ones. Just MHO. Happy Holidays everyone!

+1 on that.......I began tearing into mine the same day I drove it home from the dealer and now 5 years later, I can say (for today anyway), it's been modified to my standards.....Now if I could find some extended bag bottoms in Black Pearl at a good price, I could be swayed to add them..........
