My dealer stores bikes on a tender, does an oil change, and washes it before you pick it up for $200.00 they store them under cover too.

ECM will not lose it's programing .
Just take it out and put it back in the right way so you do not short anything
Pull main fuse.
Disconnect ground first
When you put it back connect Positive first.
Then replace main fuse.
Next year store it at HD for a dollar a day or less they keep it warm and on a tender.
Heck dealers here even pick up and drop off free.
If your bike doesn't have the security system there is no electrical drain and the battery will hold up just fine over a few months. If it has security, disable it.

I'll just add my vote for removing the battery and taking it home to keep on a tender. If Father Christmas is short of ideas for you, he just got a prompt!
