Looks great. I agree, we know we can't get our money back. But that's not why we do it. We do it because we enjoy it and want to give our toys a personal touch. I think you should add the day maker headlight. It has a tinted lens. Should go well with the black theme.

Nice bike!

I have the same bike and want to black out my front end too. Did you buy the fork lowers from HD or have yours powder coated? Did you do the disassembly your self? I am thinking of doing it all myself But I have never taken them apart before.

The only other thing that's is bugging me on my bike is all the info printed on the left side frame. I want it gone or covered.

Looking good, I really like what you've done. I like the black/chrome mix, but I'm a little biased lol. Seems like we kinda have the same taste in more ways than one. My first car was a 67 Chevelle SS. Good job and enjoy the new ride.

Thanks Allen, like what you've done with your new SG also. Next time I know I'm coming up your way I'll call you a month or so prior and hopefully we can set up a stop in appointment like you did with my old 09 SG. What you did for me that day on that bike made it much easier to put close to 50k miles on it.

I like the blackened look of the day maker but really don't want to spend what looks to be, if I remember correctly, about $500. I'm hoping to just be able to come up with black trim but don't see that H-D is making without buying the day maker.

Thanks. Bought the lowers and the cans from a private powder coater on ebay for under half the price. I believe Joe, here on the forum, offers a good price with an exchange program - Joe the Powder Pro or something like that is his company. I'm lucky enough to have a former H-D certified mechanic as a friend and I get a great rate on anything I want done.

Thanks, really like your bike also. After chroming out my black 09 SG, I'm really enjoying doing the opposite with this one.

Yes after my 65 Chevelle SS was a 67 Corvette 427-435 and then when I returned from Vietnam in late 68, a 69 Chevelle SS and finally in late 71, a tamed down 72 Chevelle SS.

First, your bike is SWEEEEEEEEEEET! Everybody has an opinion. . . right. So as for mine, Black the turn signals. . they kinda distract from the visual flow. Black that passenger foot peg as well. It looks like a little spot of lost chrome in a sea of black. . . just my humble 2 cents
