Great looking bike. I'm blacking things out on mine also but mostly going for the Contrast type.

I like your avtar, someone on every forum has a hot chick pulling a string but its never the same girl lol. Is there a website for hot bow girls or something

Thanks very much and I appreciate all opinions.

Once I black out the horn cover and derby cover on the other side I'll have exactly 66 square inches of chrome on that side. If I black out the rider peg and signal on the exhaust side, instead of the same 66 square inches of chrome, I'll be down to 52 square inches of chrome and the bike will no longer be symmetric. lol Just bull sh***ing. Right now I'm thinking that perhaps the little pieces of chrome offer a contrast but I could easily sway over to the full blown blackening.

I agree that little chrome offers contrast and makes the black stand out. I like your black wheels. I've been having a hard time deciding what to do with mine because my front is all blacked. After seeing your bike, I think that black wheel is the way to go. Myself, I like seeing the chrome engine and trans area with an all black bike but, that is just me.

I originally thought I wanted some sort of contrast on the new SG wheel but it was going to be a little more complicated to do when combined with the black powder coating. When I saw the solid black set on ebay from ***** Shiny I decided to jump on them and see how they'd be. I'm pretty happy so far.

I like the blackened look of the day maker but really don't want to spend what looks to be, if I remember correctly, about $500. I'm hoping to just be able to come up with black trim but don't see that H-D is making without buying the day maker.[/QUOTE]

Bike looks Great! My kinda style!
The trim is separate from the daymaker. I think the p/n is 46555-03a
about $30

I've had all blacked-out bikes in the past and liked them, now I'm back to my chrome phase with my Street Glide.

I agree with some of those above, if you are going black to the extent you have, I would continue and do the trans cover, primary, rocker boxes and their covers, and maybe the dash too? I think that would really tie it all together.

Good luck with your continuing project, after this Christmas and then my birthday, I will pretty much be done accessorizing mine, and she'll be ready for some custom paint.

Looking at the clearance on the rear end - did you replace the stock shocks with something with more travel? EDIT: I now see tat since you went the radius pipes, this is a rare bagger that does NOT have pipes extending past the bags. Thus, the illusion of more clearance.

Here's a few pics of my process of blacking out. Yours looks great. Really like the black wheels. I think I might go aftermarket in phase 3 of my mods so don't know if I want to bother changing them yet. Just finished phase 1.
