As you can see in my sig pic I wrapped the Thunderheader on my Dyna. The first time I did it after about a year or so it rusted pretty bad I had to get it sand blasted to get all the rust off.But the second time I did it I ran it like that for nearly 5 years and had no rust. The difference? in a word RUSTOLEUM and never park it wet every time I washed the bike I either ran it till dry or went for a ride before parking it.In the end though I ended up just buying heat shields for it and painting it.Not because I had a problem with the wrap I was just tired of the whole rat rod look.

Did you notice any tone difference of the exhaust when you wrapped it? I thought of doing it to mine because with the MVA heads and compression it has a high pitched poppity sound, thought maybe the wrap may tone the sharpness of the noise down.

wrapping for less heat is good, but it will blue your heat shield over time.worst is ,if get caught riding in the rain like me . my chrome heat shields turn blue in just few hour of riding in rain

The wrap isn't thick enough to really affect noise and it's effect on heat is minimal.Better than nothing but not as good as ceramic coating or a good set of heat shields. If your going o do it under heat shields I'd recommend painting the header with Rustoleum High heat paint first.I tried PJ1 VHT and it rusted damn near over night. Then again stock headers can be had pretty cheap maybe not that big a deal if it rusts out.
