Default How to remove bearings ?

Hi all
Is there a way to remove the wheel bearings without using the expensive puller ?

I have tried getting them out with a drift from the rear but dont have enough of a purchase to get them out..

I will be replacing them so not bothered about damaging them when getting them out.

Thanks all, have a great new year.

I weld a washer to the inner race and push them out with a press. Works for me.

Hi'
Great idea but i dont have a welder....

Would a floor bolt work ? - one that expands and then it might be able to knock it out from the opposite side.

Thanks

Be careful. You go knocking a bearing in or out and you can get it cockeyed and screw up your hub.

The correct tool is only 100 bucks on ebay. If you were near I'd let you use mine...

Been there done that, buy the tool, even if it's a cheaper version of it from Harbour Freight etc, you will be happy you did, it's worth it and you won't end up damaging something that will cost you a ton more to replace than the cost of the puller

Hi,
Thanks for the replies.
Its not so easy here in the UK as we cannot get (easily) harley tools and if we get them from the usa we pay mega import duty....

A friend of mine use something like that a concrete anchor thing to push it out carefully from the opposite side without any problem , the bearings are unusable after that.
