If you were to do a search here, you'd find this question asked and answered at least 2,387 times. The "best" sound is subjective and mkguitar has it right...go listen to different bikes. Some people swap pipes out regularly to get that perfect sound. Good luck!

Say what you will, but in my experience when someone puts Rineharts on they usually quit looking for mufflers because they like them so much

As has been said, decatting the head pipes will give you better sound and cool things off for you.

Like someone said before go out and listen to a few different types. (BEST) exhaust is subjective like "what type of oil is best", "what speakers are the best", and "what tires are the best". Different strokes for different folks. Whichever way you decide to go de-catting them will give you a better sound on all slip-ons.

I have the American Customs on mine. They sound good and the price was right.

If you don't want them real loud the Fuel Moto Jackpot 4" slip ons are the best I have ever heard.

Whether or not your converter is in place, you'll notice a difference in sound and possibly performance (depending on the muffler) with different slip-ons. The only two things removing the converter from the stock headpipe does is cut down on the heat a bit and make more noise.

I don't think you can do much better than the 4" Dyno-Tuned Jackpot mufflers. They're high-quality, sound great, and have a lifetime warranty. They also flow like crazy.

With that said, I'm still firmly in the "buy a tuner first" camp.
