Thanks for all the advice! I figured the question has been asked time and time again. But, I really didn't feel like searching hundreds of pages for the info I wanted. So, thanks again! It's really hard for me to go listen to other bikes, because of the winter season. No bike nights, rallies, etc. But I won't pass up the opportunity to listen! If I don't get to listen to anyone, I have a good baseline to start with.
Geezr, let me know what you decide to do. I may be interested. Still saving up some money.
Someone asked about my oil... Amsoil Synthetic is what I run.

Well, Amber Whisky, with all due respect, here's a bit of a contrarian point of view to this... not too long ago, the Internet wasn't available, and when it became universal, reasearch has never been easier...and with the advent of these forums, all ya gotta do to get an answer is simply ask a question, then all sorts of folks will rise to the bait. When I first saw your question, there was no fewer than FIVE exhaust questions on the same page as yours... ALL of which were essentially unanswerable...basically, the most subjective of questions that just can't be answered by anybody other than the guy who's looking for his own sound!
You would not have had to look at hundreds of pages, sir, to realize that there are hundreds of choices out there, and that the onliest way to choose would be to listen to the real thing...and I realize that it may be a few months before you can get out there and listen to them all, but please don't take shortcuts to things like this! Kinda like asking 'what grips will I like', or 'what shade of pink or purple should I paint my bike'...hell, how the heck do we know?
I have the American Customs on mine. They sound good and the price was right.
+1 on American Custom....I had the AC Bombers & Powerflex header installed on my 2012 RK at Daytona Bike week last year. Some really great deals if the American Custom crew has the factory trailer at a bike event. I also like how you can tailor the sound to 3 different sound levels.
What's the best sounding slips ons? I want to leave the stock head pipes on and I don't want to de-cat it. Maybe later. For now, I just want a better sound from some after market slip ins.
I run Kuryakyn "Crusher Mellows" built by V&H for Kury with the original stock head pipe.
Not too loud, not too soft - just a nice mellow snarl.Riding bud has V&H twin slash rounds and they are quieter than the Mellows. Sound nice however.

Thank you...this needs to be said on better than 50% of the threads these days.
