When I leave my house, I generally run through the gears and by the end of my street things are fine. It doesn't really effect idle or anything and it's hard to say just from a seat of the pants kind of feel. If you go 100% throttle out of the gate, it bogs down and you can smell the fuel as it makes it run so rich out of the gate.

It seems like, from watching the dyno and being able to smell it, that its default is to start by dumping tons of fuel into the cylinder, and then learns to back it off versus going lean and adding fuel. I would say within the first mile of my ride its made a majority of the needed adjustments, and from there its just fine tuning. I can tell because it gets snappier from idle and has a more robust sound once warmed up.

If I had the information I had now, and could start all over I would think about PCV from fuel moto and their life time maps. Seems like a really good choice, and my Indy shop uses the PCV so they would be able to help with anything needed after install. I also never have intentions to do anything more than the pipes/headpipe/air cleaner....so I did not have a need for a robust tuner to take timing and things into account. I have read about guys using the Cobra tuner with cams and such with success but I personally would spend the money on a tuner that has its own map and timing adjustments if I were going to being doing motor work beyond the simple stuff. Just my $.02. As far as needing timing changes without cams and such, I have no idea. I am sure there are some small gains to be had but I am not a mechanic and there will be a 1000 opinions on the subject. I can say that my mechanic was pretty impressed with my dyno run once the tuner had some drive time (about a minute) on it and you can see the numbers. He implied those were pretty good numbers for what I had. (I have no idea whats good or not).

My goal was a simple, somewhat cheap (since no tuning is needed etc) tuner that would fix the factory lean problem, and give me a piece of mind that I wasn't burning up the exhaust valve running lean from pipes and AC change. I achieved that goal and the Cobra works. The "auto tune" feature allowed me to make those changes separately when funds allowed it, and I still might put a head pipe on it at some point rather than a decatted factory pipe, at which point I won't have to change anything else. The cobra tuner will take care of it.

My PC-V has been flawless as well.
No issues.
Bought an extra one as I got a great deal on it to have just in case.
Also got a great deal on an auto tuner that I will in conjunction with the PC-V.

I just installed my PC-V that I got from fuel moto. Very simple install and bike runs much better. Especially on acceleration.
