I have a STOCK '08 with the 96" that I swear will keep up with my other stock 2013 103." I would recommend spending your money on something else.

Someone was selling their new 103 take off parts on here for pretty cheap.... so that got me thinking
I've got a screamin Eagle 103 and I'm not that far above a well tuned 96 with the same cams. 3-6 ft lbs of torque is all. The 48 cams were designed by Andrews just for 96" baggers. I love mine!

It's not just the Big Bore when you go to 103. There is a moderate increase in compression too so the difference between a Big Bore vs stock is very noticeable IMO, particularly when matched to the right cam.

Putting 48s/222 in your 96 will give a nice boost (around 100/85) but even putting take off 103 jugs and pistons along with .030 head gasket gives ya enough compression to really open up cam choices (204/57/54/555/even 570s/) to get a much better boost (near 110/100). Of course doing 107 and heads will do better but at some point cost vs gain really starts to take a hit??
