Usually you should do your oil change before winter storage. At this point I would suggest leaving what is in there in and getting yourself on a regular service schedule.

I have owned 5 Harleys over the years with most getting over 75k miles before trading and I change my oil every 5 k miles. Not sure how 5k mi translates to km

5k mi = 8k km which would suggest you oil may be on an 8k service schedule with the stages added at 16k. Its up to you but if it were me I would let it be until next spring and change the oil at 24k km

I think one is safe at 5,000 miles with synthetic oil...I change mine out at 3,000 miles and use synthetic, and most would say that's a waste, but it's my opinion that the real concern is mung in the oil, and mung doesn't care whether it's dino or synth, so, there ya go...but let's not convert this into yet another oil thread!

Oil is the main ingredient to keep an engine running for many many miles--I'm like Veekness--I change it out every 3000mi. Have done so ever since I started riding in the 70's. And avery third oil change gets a "5-quart" oil change that flushes out all the crap that stays in the sump. FWIW

The oil schedules are in the owners handbook. If you don't have one you may be able to download one from the HD website - go to the Owners tab. There really is no need to vary from the intervals! For very low annual mileages the schedule will probably recommend annual changes of engine oil.
