I'm digging that look--is it me, or do the "rings" look totally solid and very un-ring like when they're on white? I know they go amber with turn, but do they look that solid the rest of the time?

It depends on the ambient light but yes most of the time the white or the amber appears to fill the housing.
Can you tell much difference at night compared to stock? Thanks
Absolutely, especially on a Street Glide that doesn't already have running lights like an Ultra Limited. On my Limited it adds some brightness to the other LEDs but mainly it makes the lighting consistent with all LEDs on the front of the bike.
