It depends on the ambient light but yes most of the time the white or the amber appears to fill the housing.
I'd say all of the time. Those LED's are bright. Here's another picture of my set up. Pay no attention to the headlight. It's my old HID set up, it sucked. Switched to a trucklite ph7

Not bright for oncoming but you WILL be seen!!! Great upgrade for the front of the bike!!!!!!!!! I love my rings!!!!!!!!
