I was referencing that as to the capacity of the charging system on the bike. I'll do some more measurements tonight when I get home.

Installed a set of heated hand groups about a week ago, and like the consensus seems to be, above two is HOT. Unfortunately the previous owner cut the power input plug to do a fog lamp install. Right now mine are hard wired in. Definitely check voltage at the plug oncoming, although it might be worthwhile to check it on the outgoing side for the throttle side grip too.

My hands perspire at the 4 setting on lined leather gloves. Seems to be about right at 2 1/2 for me.

I agree with others on checking the volts at the grips.

How long do the grips take to warm up to say 3? 5 minutes, faster, slower? Just installed heated grips today and was curious as to how mine compare.

I sent the hand grips back to Harley Davidson and got my refund. Went to the local H-D and bought a set that was on the rack. Same price as on-line. Installed them on my bike Saturday night and took it out for a test on Sunday. Same thing, just barely warm to the bare hand.
I'm wondering if these aren't designed for use in temps down in the 20s or 30s.
I've checked all the connections several times and everything else on the bike is working as it should. I have heated gloves to and they work as expected.
Am I missing something on the installation procedure? Are there any other components that are supposed to go with the heated hand grips that I'm over looking?

They take a little bit to warm up. Mine are almost painfull to the touch at over 4 barehanded. Have you tried actually riding with them? Or are you just turning them on in the garage? I have noticed mine don't really get warm until I ride for 5 minutes or so.

Just like the first set, I rode the bike for at least 20 min down road and 20 min back. I had to take my glove off to see if it was getting warm.

Only thing I can think of is:
1. Check if main wiring is not inside switch housing. Wires could be pinched.
2. Orange/white wire is in correct fuse (P&A IGN 2A MAX) and use fuse kit.
3. Red wire to circuit-breaker.

Some of the install is specific to 2004-2006 touring bikes, so make sure those were done.

Other then that, I would bite the bullet and get the stealer to look at 'em.

I would think if you audio is not working I think it is time to check the fuse and the wires.
Try not to rewire it back at to the same place look for another power source to wire it up.

I fixed the audio problem.
The install was according to the install instructions that came with the grips. Pretty easy to follow.
