To me its not a hobby, riding is my life. I would give up pretty much everything else to keep my bike running. Having my harley keeps me happy, keeps me married and a good dad as it is my stress relief
I paid 30,500 for a new Dodge 3/4 ton, 4 door, long bed truck with 4x4, AC, cruise, power windows, heater, electric mirrors w/defrost, Cummins diesel, etc.... I would never spend that kind of money for any Harley. The 11,500 (+ mods) I spent on my Dyna keeps me very happy
If you can afford it, then go for it. I bought my 2011 Tri Glide because of age and an operation. After two years on this thing, you couldn't get me back on two wheels even if I could. The pluses outweigh the negatives by a ton. My bet is on you being very happy with the purchase. The more miles, the more you will be glad of the decision to buy it. And if you ride two up, your passenger will be happy also. Of course this is just one mans opinion!
Resolve that it's too much money, and don't buy it. If the idea eventually 'floats away' good riddance. If you can't forget the bike after so many weeks and months, go buy it and forget about 'justification'. The desire was the justification. You got to live a little 'dirty', every once in a while...
If your awake at night over it then I would say there is no justification. I buy when I am comfortable with a price and the product.

Just would like some of your thoughts on how you spend this kind of money on Hobby?
