How do you Justify Cost
This isn't to whine but you guys in Touring have best inputs! This is about buying a New tri glide. $35K. Well I really want one but having a real hard time pulling trigger on cost of these things. I want the water Head so used is out of question. This will be my last Harley so what the Heck? I will have to finance about 10K for a year. Is everyone on here buying new Harleys Rich? Just would like some of your thoughts on how you spend this kind of money on Hobby? I have had about 6 Harleys over past 20yrs so I have paid the price along the way....But this one has me waking at night with this purchase on mind!

Simple question and you will have the answer.
Can you afford the loan?
Only you can answer that.
If you can without sacrificing the everyday necessities well then.......
Yes it is a hobby but at some point in our lives we hopefully get to the point that we have discretionary income.
I also ask how often will I use the item.
What will the return in enjoyment be.
For example if you ride with your wife and this will give you both more time together then the ROI is worth it.
Anyway these are just some of the things I ask myself.

I have found in life that people will find a way to afford things. Is there some other major need you are foregoing to buy the trike? If the bills are paid and you are otherwise in a good place financially, I see nothing wrong with it. I personally am not ready to buy another toy until I have more time to actually ride them. Enjoy your new trike!

I make double payments every month. The funds are automatically withdrawn every month. It also means that I'm not excessive with my spending habits. In March, my truck will be paid off; therefore, that money will go towards the bike loan. So, it's as if I'm making close to three payments a month. I don't like owing anybody but in a year, my 2012 will be fully paid off.

People of all types and incomes buy Harleys (and loads of other expensive things!). Get a bee in your bonnet and if it won't go away then act! It's unlikely anyone in here will put you off buying a new trike.

You can't take that hard earned money with you 6 feet under. If you can put that kind of cash down, it sounds like you take care of your finances. I wouldn't worry about a payment but if you don't like them, double or triple them to get it payed off.
