The whole point is swinging the payment?

If you don't buy it your likely going to spend the money on other things that won't be there for you to tinker with and enjoy.
Heck without it you may look back and kick yourself for not jumping into it.

I'm not rich, just lucky enough to keep it all together to enjoy what I want to do.
Sure it sucks to look at something sitting in the garage your making payments on but all that sucking quickly goes away while I'm flying down the highway in my own world.

Good luck with your decision and don't forget to post up your pics when you bring her home for us to enjoy.

It's 1 trip rodeo, don't forget it, that how I look at all of it.

Yep I never heard anyone in their last days say that they wish they would have hunted, fished or rode their bike less.

Buy the bike before someone on this forum turns the subject into a virtual pissing match.

Get it and if you want to take it with you have yourself put on it and bury it with you on it.

I don't justify the cost of any of the bikes. I look at it as entertainment or expendable income. What I spend on my bikes is just like going to the movies, concerts, vacation or whatever else everyone else likes to do for fun.

If you want it and can afford it, get your trike.

The money is no good where your gonna end up... Ride in Style! ( but live within your means ) and ten grand is 28 bucks a day. Give something up, if it bothers you. I quit smoking, thats my justification. Saved tons!

You only live once.
I could list all kinds of depressing stories of friends and relatives who saved and scrimped and never lived to see the fruits of their sacrifice. Their kids did.
It sounds morbid but its true, you could be dead tomorrow.
If you can handle the payment, do it.
I doubt too many on here are rich, I know I'm not.

Still a good thread going here. I am even thinking of selling a few stocks to pay for the thing with cash...Why not. The stocks are high and I cant have fun with them and they will probably go in the ******* soon with the cycles in our Economy. Also I am very surprised I'm not getting more flack from the touring people. Like "why would you spend that kind of money on 3 wheels" Or if I cant ride with two wheels I'll give it up... save your money!.. You guys are more encouraging than my dealer! I am very glad I asked the question on the touring site...the Tri Glide site is a bit sleepy. I am guessing they don't do many mods or have questions about their bikes. I have PM ed about all of the owners in tri glide section and they all say I'll be happy with the bike!
OK Dealer will call today...he has everyday for past week and I'm going to tell him the story..stay tuned.

Hap; I was in your shoes back in 2005...retired fm Air Force & looking for new job (2nd career), but wanted to spoil self w/retirement toy (i.e. new bike). Really looking at a touring bike, but way over budget so I ended up locating a "like new" Sportster on eBay (local deal). Rode/enjoyed this bike for 4-yrs until I could swing the "dream bike" (Street Glide). Traded up and then increased payments for a bit to get loan off my back early. Now I've added another Sportster and both bikes are 100% mine. So, the morale of my story is, if you want it bad enough...figure out a way to make it work and then go for it! Good luck!
