berattag..if your waiting till 200 to start looking you are not cutting yourself much slack..at 46 mpg on 5 gallons the best you can expect is 230 miles...probably a little close especially with the new cams and V&H's.

I have made it the norm weather in my car or on the Hog to start looking for a station as soon as the gage reaches 1/4 tank. Never run out of gas with this practice.

I would respectfully argue with the group here.. 34 around town is pretty normal for the 96" engine. On the highway, you'll usually get between 41 and 45 depending upon how you ride it. Oddly enough, I've found the 96" does better the closer you run it to 3k on the tach. (I'm sure I'll get a few arguments out of that statement). Bottom line, Depending upon the style of riding your doing will determine how far you should go between fillups. Around town, I'd start to look at 130. On the highway, I'd start to look at 150 and would not push it past 170. At least not unless you like to push your bike.
