Default '14 SGS - How to adjust handle bars?

I'm trying to pull my handle bars back. Took out ignition, removed dash and loosened trim under ignition. I could see the front allens, but had no room to get a tool in there. I couldn't see how to remove trim around the radio to give me clearance. Any clue? Or do I have to remove the outer fairing?

Oh, and what are to two sets of wires going to the blank switches under the ignition? Definitly have to get that service manual ordered!

Thanks.

I took an "L" shaped allen (hex) wrench and shortened the short end with a Dremel tool cutting wheel. It worked fine then. The Service Manual calls for a Ball Head Allen wrench, but I could not get that to work.

I hope this helps.

If all you want to do is pull the bars back a bit you shouldnt need to access the front bolts. Just loosen the rear and put the bars where you want them then torque them down.
The front bolts tightened down so there is zero clearance between the two halves of the clamp and then the rear are torqued to "pinch" the bars in place.

You forgot to tell him that to do that, you have to pull the radio out......

I use 1/4" drive screwdriver bit, placed into the allen butt end first.

and turn that with a wrench.

as above you need only loosen the 2 rear bolts, pad the tank with a towel, rotate the bars back and turn lock to lock to ensure the controls don't hit the tank- leave at least 9/16 clearance as the bars are on rubber bushings and can move enough to hit the tank if leaned on hard

same "tool" for the lower 2 bolts on the tranny end cover
