Opinion-- safety visibility-- Question. You're on your Road King, it's early morning dark, you're on the freeway, splitting the carpool and far left lane. Do you go with the single headlamp on "bright". Or, the regular lamp with the running lights?
AZ allows high beam in daylight hours, that's what i do
Check your CA regs.
as you know ( or should know) the lane splitter is automatically at fault if anything goes wrong, look for the head swiveling or the front wheels angling out like for a lane change.
rule of thumb is no faster than 35 MPH and no more than 10 MPH faster than traffic.
that said i split lanes when i lived in LA and always gave a nice wave to the drivers who did notice and maybe left a little more room for me to get by.
Never had too close a call.
If your nerves are frayed, just sit in traffic and relax...too many drivers sitting in traffic are using the car as an office, phone and computer and all.
Many of us are wired to run spots with high beam on.
you can buy a kit from HD or do a free wiring mod yourself, there are many posts on this.
