Default Air Suspension Install Completed

Finally finished installing the armott courtesy of HogPro(great folks to deal with). Now those of you with the older system have your compressor mounted by your rear tire. Arnott changed this for the touring bikes they redesigned the compressor and its now mounted in the cavity in front of your battery. Its a real bitch getting it in there but eventually you will maneuver it in. There are 2 two holes already in the frame that the bracket studs will slide into and two acorn nuts to bolt in place. This centralized all the wiring and air connectors around the battery compartment. I found a great place to mount the manifold next to the ABS unit behind the right cover. With the tank removed I ran the handle bar switch wiring and the air gauge line along the frame under the tank and while I had the tank off ran the power lines to the battery for the new amplifier. I kinda jury rigged the air gauge next to the brake reservoir until I can find an appropriate handlebar mount or figure out a way to dash mount it. And yes you need an air gauge its the only way to tell if your system is leaking and also enables you to consistently set your air pressure once you find your sweet spot.

This is the new compressor (bottom) and the old style compressor (top).

This is the acorn nuts once you get the compressor in place.

This is the manifold mounted next to the ABS unit under the right side cover.

This is my jury rigged gauge set up (temporary)

And this is the chrome control switch which mounts to the lower bolt on the clutch retaining bracket.

In your earlier post a few days ago you were having problems with the system, did you get all the bugs worked out? How does this effect ride height and quality of ride? Most of us know going into the SG that the ride is a little on the harsh side over broken cement. I would like to do a suspension upgrade this spring and was looking at the HD upgraded shocks and the progressive. Would love to hear how this system has helped with the ride quality, and it looks GREAT!

Turned out the compressor was leaking and Arnott sent me out a new compressor and that solved the problem. As for the ride I'm not going to find out until it warms up here in NY lol. If the ride is better that's a big plus. I figured it couldn't be any worse. I am kinda short legged and wanted the ability to drop the rear when walking the bike back and it works great it was either this or install the reverse gear lol. Will give a ride report when it warms up!

I don't know what system the OP purchased, but my buddy's 12" Arnott Bilstein system rides great! In fact, better than my 13" Legends system.

Ed, glad to see the install complete...sort of. I look forward to reading the review of the actual ride as well. I sell lots of these systems and have never had someone complain about the ride quality compared to stock.

As far as the air gauge it makes no sense that they do not make one that will fit where the air temp gauge is. I know you Arnott guys are out there reading this. Let's get that done for the touring guys.

I did start a thread about one that fits in the fairing and people posted a few links as I was trying to find ejvette the perfect fit but nothing was concrete and I prefer to provide a complete solution or none at all. I can tell someone "this might work" but that is not our philosophy at HogPro.

Here is the thread I started for anyone who wants to peruse it.

As always, if you need discounted pricing on Arnott products contact me (yes, sounding like an infomercial) Please be aware that Arnott has just raised their prices by quite a bit and we will continue to discount as best we can but the bottom line has gone up and it is beyond our control.
