I don't know why I'm surprised by that. Even though I never looked. Leave it to the MOCO to chrome plate the bottoms of the rider floorboards (which will never be seen), and not chrome the bottoms of the passenger boards, which are seen most of the time when not carrying a passenger. Makes perfect sense.

Any of the floorboards I have encountered are NOT chromed on the underside.

On my pop's Ultra, we had them powder coated.

Not the best pics. Sorry.

Do you remember what you paid to have them powder coated?

Eastwood also has some good stuff:

I have used por15 on a number of projects and this is the best stuff there is for covering rust. I used to build hotrods and I would paint it on the frames and never would see rust.

I don't remember anyone EVER walking up to my bike, looking it over, then laying down and looking under the rider foot boards and saying "wow, these are dirty..."

Not once. Ever. In 38+ years.

+1 on the powder coating. If the tops look like they've seen better days, then I would get a new set and then powder coat those.

I second that! I used this method to paint some chrome pieces black on my old sportbike and it worked like a charm!

Not only were mine rusty underneath, but I started seeing rust on the top under the rubber floor board. Needed the right light and angle, but I seem to have that talent.

Powder coated and never looked back.
