Default 2014 SG Special exhaust mod?

Has anyone decided to keep their stock exhaust, remove the stock baffles, install an aftermarket baffle and kept them? In order to save me some $$$ I have been debating wether to save me the money and keep my stock exhaust, having it powder coated in black, install a different baffle for now and save the money for other goodies Don't know if it will be worthwhile doing so, but what I really want is the Vance & Hines Pro Pipe in Black but at $700+ I have to consider my options since I'm doing a few upgrades to my denim black 2014 SGS..

Removing a few parts and getting them powder coated, blacken out my front end, outer primary, etc etc will be getting powder coated

Any recommendations for an aftermarket baffle? Decisions, decisions... Thanks in advance!

CJ, did you do any tuning or xieds? I plan on starting with removing the cat and go from there. I am not interested in loud maybe just slightly louder than stock and just want to wake the motor up a bit. I don't need to squeeze every hp out.

Yeah that's how I felt . I don't want loud but wanted louder than stock . The stock mufflers are not near as restrictive as they used to be when the cat was in the muffler. I was surprised with the rumble and tone it has just by removing the cat .
Since I still have stock air intake and the exhaust is still relatively restricted I did not do anything at all with a tuner or Xieds . The bike still rides like stock normal . I will get a tuner later when I do more mods

This is my plan. De-cat and intake.

Looking towards 4" Rineharts down the road.

You might want to check out americancustom.com

They take your stock pipes and modify them to accept different interchangable baffles. Believe they also have them in black.

You can buy a set of decatted head pipes from internet for $125, and sell your stock pipes to noloudpipes.com for $75, and end up pretty cheap.

Then add some Vied's and a fuel moto high flow air filter kit, and you got a pretty nice stage one, some new cosmetics, a better performing, cooler running and better sounding bike.

I have used Powder Coating Specialties, they have done very good work for me in the past. Most HD dealership use him exclusively so that speaks volumes.. I will check him out though, thanks!

Usually lots of decatted pipes on e-bay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-David...-/111268857436

Hope it is ok to post a link. I do not know this guy, but he gives you $50 back for your old pipe.

You can save even more money by just drilling out the cat by yourself. Use the search function this site for more information on how to do this.
