Starter leaking... help

The black is oil proof, or atleast few years ago it was. The red probably is too, but would stick out like a sore thumb. They also make O2 safe silicone. I suspect you would have to put the non safe in the intake area before it would mess up the O2's.

You shouldn't need any sealant if the o-ring is in place. But then maybe it still does. Check with a shop for the right kind to use. Did you replace the starter clutch or rebuild it? Check to make sure the pinion gear bearing has an oil seal in it. Some were made without one. Also check the oil level in the primary. Make sure it's not getting overfilled with engine oil in it.

Didn't realize there were more o rings inside. Have to take it apart and check the starter itself. I got my starter rebuilt but when I called they had givin me a already rebuilt starter they had on the shelf. (My fault told them I needed it done ASAP starter died 3 days before bike week). Thanks for the tips everyone
