I put over 10k on my Custom Fat Boy. Even with Legend Air suspension and a 200 tire, it does not compare with my Street Glide. Just did a trip Sunday on the SG that I had done before on the FB and could have kept going. Did not have that feeling on the FB. If you want to do distance, then you have to go Bagger.

My first Harley was the Fatboy, and for the sake of it all I enjoyed every mile from it. But once I got a hold of that Street Glide, there is no turning back. What a ride difference it is and the comfortis fantastic. I will miss the Fatty, but only because it was my first Harley.....ok...ok (I will go cry in the corner) Seriously, knowing what I know now, I would of boughta tour model sooner and the Street Glide is the way to go. Good Luck!

I own both a 2000 Fat Boy and a 2007 Street Glide. On a Fat Boy you seem to sit down in the bike more, and it isn't as wide so your feet feel more planted at stops. I guess that can be good or bad depending on your leg length. Every Harley you own you will most likely have to set up so you are in the riding position you like, everyone is diffrent. Usually bars and seat get changed, sometimes pegs or floorboards. I'm still in the process of getting my Glide just rite. Even so, the Fat Boy isn't getting much road time.

I bought my Fatboy in 04 and rode it from my home in VA to Myrtle Beach Bike Week about 450 one way, rode around down there for the 4 days we were there and then home. By the time I got home my *** hurt, my back felt like it was broke and I didn't even touch the bike for at least a week. I went out and bought a 05 Road Glide, and have since sold the Fatboy. I really like it but didn't want the payment.

I love the RG and would never not have a touring bike, but I could also see having another Fatboy someday.

My previous bike was a fatboy. I went with the Sundowner touring seat, Much softer on my back! My new bike is a Road King and with the air suspension it is easier on the bumps. It's all personal preference and what type of riding you do.

Purchased a Fat Boy June of '05. Went on a few long rides with my wife and a lot of gear for 3 to 4 day stays. In August of '07 we purchased a Ultra for the long trips for 2 main reasons: 1) storage and 2) comfort.

After 100 miles or so on the Fat Boy my lower back will begin to ache. I tried a different seat and that extended it to about 150 miles. The Ultra will allow me to ride all day. The Ultra has me sitting up straight as opposed to slightly bending over likeon the Fat Boy.

I love our Fat Boy and do not see ever selling it. The Ultra will always be used for long trips though!

I won a new 2002 Fatboy and rode it for 2 months then traded it for a little more comfort,a 2002 Heritage because it had a windshield and decent size bags. The Fatboy also had a hard seat which gave me numb butt after an hour out of town. The handle bars are cool but not an ideal position for touring.I just sold the Heritage after trying out other bikes and realizing touring was my thing vs. city riding. My '07 Electaglide Classic should be here by the end of April.

I rode to Kingman , Az last weekend to trade my 05 Ultra on an 07 Fatboy. Just sitting on the Fatboy was enought to change my mind. I had a new 95 Fatboy, so I know how they ride, except mine 95 didnt have the B motor. If I trade It will have to be for another bagger, and most likely an Ulta. So used to all the gadgets!
