I am rebuilding a 2001 FLHTC which has air lines leading to the forks. One line (from the wye to the left fork) has a small hole and will not hold air. The dealer tells me that I have to replace the entire line at a cost of $75. Sounds like a lot when I only need to replace a 10 inch section of the line (at least it looks like it can be replaced). Suggestions/Comments?? Thanks
I would try, best I remember they are just standard automotive rubber vacume type hose. Or even try patching the hole with a good rubber cement, the front end is very low pressure anyway. Another thing ive done is cut line and insert small metal tube between the pieces with clamp on each end to fix a hole in rubber lines like fuel lines.
I would suggest you determine the exact O.D. of the leaking line and go to your local hardware store and see if they have a double sided compression fitting in that size. If so, make sure you get the plastic inserts for that size line so when you install the compression collar and start to tighten it up, it won't crush the line. I think this would work for you without any trouble...
This fitting in normally sold in the plumbing section of hardware stores...
go to any big truck dealer, they will have the line by the foot.
Also some NAPA stores stock the line.
Just take a sample with you.
I used to work for freightliner and peterbilt dealers we always had it in stock.
Probably less than a $1.

So I'm 10 days from leaving for Sturgis and I'm airing up the front shocks and "Pssssssssssssssssst". I evidently developed a small leak in a line under the tank. Do some calling, the sturgis rush is on and they cannot get me in, I call a dealer and they have the hose, off I go...
They sold me a package with enough line to do an entire touring bike for $16.95. I remember reading on heresomeone else trying to buy some line at i think it was 16 bucks or so a foot. You guys need to have the dealer look at what they are selling, it's 16.95 for a package to do the whole bike.
That or the dealer just gave me $500 worth of line.. ,
Back at the ranch, a wire and some tape lets me run the hose under the left side of the tank, right side is to full of stuff, connect the hose to front T and rear filler, pump it up, walla, no leak.
