I'm looking for a second bike (probably a Road Glide) to start touring across this great country of ours, and I'm torn between paying less money for a 96 ci or a 103 ci with ABS. Are the additional dollars for a newer 103 model really worth it? Do you think these air cooled Road Glides will hold up well price wise when the new liquid cooled Road Glides come out?
I would suggest that the new scheme is a stop-gap measure as they ease the market towards liquid cooling.
a liquid cooled motor will make much more power than an air cooled ( for a number of reasons).
similar to the early EFI was crap...as they eased toward a comprehensive EFI system.
so my 2˘ is that the 2014 liquid cooled head motors will be orphaned, there may be more or similar but the future is a fully liquid cooled motor, and on tippy toes I can almost see over the horizon
