got my bike after going to four dealers. same crap . after trying to work a deal for a few days, went to another. sure as hell would not be yelled at. if they don't want your money, go somewhere else
I guess I must have a good dealer, I have purchased my last three new scooters from the same sales guy. When I am ready to buy, I go to the dealer and ride my new bike home the same day.
Now there's a new concept. Whodathunkit??
OP, I realize that this is the age of the internet and such. And Amazon, eBay, and other online sources make buying easy. But there are some things you just have to get off your butt and go into the store to make a deal.

now wouldn't that be the ****? buy it on amazon prime and have free shipping to your door. don't have to go to that nasty hd store. then you could probably pay the neighbor kid to ride it for you so you never have to leave the house.
I see this on here all the time, been wanting to but until now never have
So today is the day...... How do you know??????
Because I used to work in the car sales business for several years and I'd see it happen all the time. Especially with a popular vehicle. Someone would come in, look at it, test drive it, hammer out a price, take up hours of a sales guys time, then walk out and say "I'm not ready, I gotta think about it." Then they'd come back a few days or a week later and say "I want the car now" only find it was sold. People think that sales guys are giving them a line of crap when they say "This car's (bike's) not gonna stick around long." In some cases it may be a line of crap, but it's true and I've seen it happen tons of times. Just sayin.
When I bought my SGS for 19,500 i had two dealers ready to do that number for me. However, at that point the SGS was plentiful and the dealer needed to build their allocation. It's just supply and demand at this point. I'm sure you could get a great deal on a SG. I don't think the MoCo thought so many people were going to bump themselves to the SGS so production still hasn't caught up to the demand. You have to ask yourself what is more important, the "deal" or the bike. If the deal is more important go buy a 13 leftover or a 14 SG non special. There are deals out there you just can't expect to get a deal on the hottest new bike on the market. Especially coming into riding season in the North East. Sell your bike privately to get top $$$. If you don't want to deal with the hassle you have to be willing to take much less $$$. Everyone thinks their bike is in the best condition and they should get top $$$. You should be able to get NADA trade value as long as there is no damage/good tires/no major mechanical. Remember, a Harley is not a "necessity" it's still a toy recreational vehicle. You get a deal when the dealer has more of a reason to move the product then you have a reason to buy it! Good luck in your search!

No matter WHAT you buy... or WHERE you buy it... soon as the deal is done... there will be someone who will post how they got the same for less.
Know what you want, and know what the price is.. get you best deal and move on. Folks who go home" to sleep on it", often get PO'd because the deal went to someone else.
