Default Breaking in your butt...lol

Got out today and rode a good 200 miles for lunch round trip and my butt was hurting about half way into our ride. I haven't been able to ride in about four weeks due to weather and I still have the stock seat which we all know is not the greatest but normally I don't have a problem with it. Do I need to break my butt in again? Lol... Anyone have a similar issue when you haven't been able to ride in a month? I was looking at seats from time to time but after a couple of long rides I got use to the stock seat and don't remember it hurting anymore. I guess I give it a couple of more long rides as spring gets here and see if my butt breaks back in.

Conditioning your backside or leg muscles, shoulders, back etc is an annual process for most, if not all riders. The more you ride the easier/more comfortable it gets. I make it a point to ride as many day rides as possible before we head out for our annual week long rides. This process is with or without seats, cushions or covers. They work better if your butt is ready to ride.

I wish it has only been a month. Been more like 3 1/2 months. Worst winter ever here.

I feel for you guys up north, hope spring gets here soon! Since I bought the bike last summer this was the longest break I have taken and just don't remember my *** hurting after 50 miles like it did today except when I first got it. So today I was thinking to my self "what changed, why is my butt sore after 50 miles of riding". The only thing I could think of was I have to break my butt in again after setting on the couch for four weeks...lol

3 months this Friday for me. I have no idea if the stock seat is comfy. Only 52 miles on the bike. I have no idea if I'll need new bars. Only 52 miles on the bike. I don't know how long it will take to get used to all of it. Only 52 miles on the bike. I DO know my butt will be sore for a while. A price I would LOVE to start paying NOW.... Did I mention I only have 52 miles on the bike.......

I usually try to do 50 miles the first day of the riding season. At about 40 miles, I'm starting to feel where things have deteriorated in the old chassis over the long winter and I can start making adjustments. Then start increasing the mileage with each ride. I also head for an empty parking lot to do some turns and slow speed stuff just to get the cobwebs out.

Two words,,,,Corbin Seats.

Do yourself a favor, go down to Galveston at the end of October to the Lone Star Rally. Corbin and Mustang have displays set up down there and you can touch and feel most all of their seats. Two years ago, I chose to put the Corbin on. I haven't been sorry. The young man working the booth really knows his business and everything he told has been spot on.

You might even check their websites and see if they are going to be in Bandera in April.
