Got a bit of a warm spell today so I decided to brave the mud on my road and get in a short run.
I fired up the '00 Ultra, turned on the tunes, and away I went. I just pulled in few minutes ago after getting in about 65 miles and it felt good to be back on 2 wheels. I had filled the bike last time I rode and knew I still had plenty of fuel from that short outing, but as I was pulling back in the garage today I noticed the fuel gauge had not moved since I last filled it. This after about 100 miles on the tank full. It had been working fine but now it just pegs when you turn the bike on. All wire connections appear clean and tight. Since no amount of pecking on it or rocking the bike has produced results, I thought I'd best check with the ...ah... "experts" on how best to proceed from here.
Oddly enough having a similar issue. Took the gauge out for some custom work, was working fine when I stopped it. When I picked the bike up after several weeks, low fuel light was on the speedo, but fuel guage pegged at full. I filled it (should have just half filled it to check needle movement but didnt think about it). Light went off, but gauge still pegged. Will have to drive a few days to see if it moves.
