Default Does the Sena units work ok with the CB?

Have a 2008 Ultra. Tired of the headset in helmet being wired to bike. Looking at the Sena SMH10 and SMH5-FM units. I do use the CB sometimes when going long distance. Any issues with using the Sena units with the stock Harley CB? I can't find any info regarding whether they work well together or if they don't work at all. Anybody have input? Thanks.

Won't work.

You might be able to run a wire from the 9-pin on the console to the mini-jack on the Sena, but there's no way I know of to do it wirelessly.

What he said................

I've been down that road too. I'm back to being corded to the bike. It works better and easier in my opinion. I'm actually fixing to put all my Sena SMH10 stuff up for sale.

Yeah, I heard back from Sena on a message I left for them. They are working on a solution, hoping to have it out this year. Funny, I found the same response in one of their forum messages...back in 2011. Not holding my breath.

I still need a solution for bike-to-bike since wife rides now and it would be nice to communicate instead of stopping on the road all the time.

I really wasn't that impressed with the bike to bike, rider passenger com. The VOX is pretty finicky so I found myself having to press the button to activate the system. The volume is just barely loud enough. I you are like me and have any hearing loss at all, it's probably not loud enough. In my opinion the best thing about them is being able to pair with your smart phone for tunes or the rare occassion phone call. And yes, I took a few phone calls. The caller usually couldn't tell I was on my MC when I was wearing my full face helmet. The 3/4 was a little windier but still doable. I think the stock, corded system is more user friendly and I think the sound quality is better, at least it is for me.

I'm not trying to bash their product. I think it probably works just like they intend for it to. It just doesn't work for me or my way of doing things. That's my .02. Take that and a couple of bucks and you can buy some coffee somewhere. Good luck.

The Bluetooth bike-to-bike intercom works great, I wouldn't dream of going back to a wired headset. Every time I hear someone complain about their headset not being loud enough I tell them to check their speaker placement. 1/4" can make a HUGE difference.

I have hearing damage, I ride with custom-molded earplugs, and I have no issue with the volume from my Sena.
