I've gotta tell you....I was VERY skeptical at first and they are a bit spendy but after using them I just couldn't get over how amazing the bike rode. No more wobbles, shakes...and smooth as glass. I'm absolutely a believer now.
I get on average an additional 30% more miles out the tires with them versus weights.
I had new tires mounted yesterday and then I installed the dynabeads. Could have had them put in when the tire was mounted but wanted to do it myself to ensure the right amount went in each wheel. I did have a problem getting them to go through the valve stem on the front wheel. I took a drill bit and reamed out the inside of the valve stem and then, with the help of the cheap engraving tool I have, they went right in. The real key is to pour them SLOWLY into the tire. Haven't been for a ride yet but I'm expecting them to work as advertised. I installed them mainly so I could remove the ugly weights from my Agitator wheels. Now I read that they increase tire life. A nice additional benefit I wasn't counting on.
I would be interested in why dynabeads in a tire would increase the life over a tire that is properly balanced with weights.
Love the beads...bought 5, 2oz bags for $20, put 2oz in each of the wheels on the bike....did not remove the weights .... and added 2oz to each of the wheels on my bike trailer....love the smoothness of both the bike and trailer....(Yah, OK, i can't feel the bike wheels when they are on the trailer).
But i do like the way they perform....would strongly recommend them.
Okay, I'm interested, how much weight of the Dynabeads do I put in a tire when I have no weights on there to begin with? I had my local Yamaha dealer install a car tire on the rear of my bike and he never balances motorcycle tires because he doesn't see the need. As a consequence my new car tire has no weights.

Get a new mechanic....I have never heard of NOT balancing a tire....is that because the crappy road balances the bad unbalanced tires....so you get a smooth ride.
You should not have weights on the tire when using Dynabeads.
It's simple...weights on the rim don't magically move as the tire wears. Tires don't wear evenly.
Dynabeads roll around until they settle in the unbalanced spot while in rotation each time you ride. As a tire wears and becomes unbalanced....the beads rebalances your tires every time you use your bike.
Perfect on demand balancing as a tire wears. Can't get any better.
