I think since 2012 all Harley spoke wheels are sealed and do not require tubes
This seems to be a common misconception based on the tire manufacturer stamping "tubeless" on their more modern manufactured tires. Owners of newer bikes with spoke wheels who've replaced their "tubeless" tires have reported that they still have tubes in them.
But unless a tubeless tire rider carries a tire patch kit and a compressor, they'll be in the same predicament as a tube tire rider if they get a flat riding alone out in BFE.
If you really like that look and are ok with any additional maintenance, go for it. If it was me, I would check to see what specific rims they are and if they are tubed or tubeless and also what the reccomendations are for checking, tightening and truing the rims over time ( 5k, 10k, etc.).
If they are tubeless, then you'll have the best of both worlds -- timeless, classic looks and the ability to address a flat tire out on the road with the same ease as the cast wheels.
If they do require tubes, then just determine if you can live with the extra work and $'s it takes to address a flat.
The spokes are problematic to clean, but you will find a couple of wire wheel cleaning brushes to make the job easier. As far as the white walls, they fade over time, but still look good. I love them on my Heritage.
