He's right though. They are all the same kind of connector. If you left the connector in tact and the secondary lock is disengaged (pulled outward), then the pins should slide and and click. You'll see about ź" of them sticking through the secondary lock. Once all in, push down on the secondary lock and you're done.

If you got one of them in upside-down, it's a bitch to get out. I've had to pull the secondary lock completely out to extract a pin that I put in wrong.

Bates is right....

4 bolts directional bolts.. Remove them..Take iginition and the cover off .. Tip fairing forward...

Those connectors are no fun... I stopped about 3 wires in..... then played hell getting them back in... If your extending your wires Just cut them. Don't mess with the connectors.... Heat shrink and solder.

Ive done 3 sets so far... If I was going to do another I would either get the longest wiring kit or just use my own wire.. Cut them and splice in a 10 inch pc of wire. One color at a time...

The kit I got the wires were just long enough.

How you coming on the bar install. Did you get the wires pulled. If so, did you lengthen them or left them same. What did you do about the TBW connector, did you cut and solder? That right side is a real MF, I know. Just step back and drink another one get back at it.

I remember reading a lot in this forum that it is VERY important to keep that switch aligned when taking it apart, remembering where it is at, making a special tool out of a flattened copper tube, etc. Since you are having trouble, and say you researched these pages a lot, I can only guess you ignored the warnings? Either that or din't do so much research. Anyway, I know that is not helpful you now, except that it is understandable you are having trouble at this point, as others apparently have gone through these pains b4. If you haven't run across what I'm talking about, do some more research in the forum till you find it. I can also tell you that there are one or two videos on You Tube that are very helpful.

not sure how to help you there. just get you back to the top to get someone who can. I didn't move the steering once I took the lock assembly out, all I can tell you.

I don't know if ya got your switch straightened out. Heres a handy little cheap tool that was seen by me here on the forum. May straighten out your switch problem now and will keep u from having future issues while you have it apart.
