THANK YOU.....i hope it doesn't come to that but it just may...lol my father in law is pulling the trailer with bikes and he wanted to have them all loaded up today because he has to go pick up a couch that also has to go with us...what a cluster f. lol he has a house near the race track and already has his Street Glide down there. I really hope I can figure this thing out by myself...I had being defeated...and this project has fought me the entire way...when you do something for the first time it seems every decision you make is the wrong one for some reason...

I just went through the same thing this past weekend and was getting frustrated. Took a flashlight and screwdriver and realigned the tumblers and finally got it to work. Just take your time and with a little patience you will get it.

Somewhere on here is a thread on how to make one out of a flatened piece of 1/4 inch copper tubing that is bent for handle on top and bent 180 degrees back on itself at bottom. Just happens to be exactly the same size as the tool. That what I used when doing my bars but dont have a link to the thread at the moment.

I bought that exact tool a year or 2 ago, before I had even purchased any bars. For the $25 it was a no brainer. I've loaned it out several times already, and the amount of 6 packs I've received in return was worth every penny : )

I went through what you did when I first did my bars on my SG. Use a flashlight and a screwdriver and you'll get it aligned just about the time you start to cry and give up. I made the copper tubing tool and used that for a while after that. Now I just lock the bars, remove the ignition, take off the covers, hand assemble the ignition and use it instead of a tool.
