thought I was nearing the finish line with my Twin Peaks install....when I put ignition in last night and hooked battery back up....turned bike on...NO power at all security light was on....ignition went to all positions but felt like was free play in it....took it back out.....could not get it to go back in...found tumblers inside were out of alignment...re aligned them.....ignition went right back in but it locks and the bars however are NOT locked...ignition is in lock position but bars still move freely....any suggestions...I searched other threads and watched those youtube clips but no one really talks about situation like this...

You have tumblers out of line. Get a flashlight and a long screwdriver and get them right. The ignition will go back in with them wrong...
ok....yea I aligned it I thought...will try again.....I took ignition out with the forks straight....that shouldnt be a problem right?
Nope. Just put it back with them straight. If you look, the tumblers have a fat and skinny side. start from the top and slowly work your way down making sure they are all where they belong.
For the record, I bought the 25.00 tool...It makes this job SO much easier. I don't even have a bike that has that style ignition. I do enough of them that it's nice to have around though...
yea...I should have got one.....everyone said I wouldn't need it....lol now I am supposed to load bike up for trip to Daytona and still don't have it done....
I had that problem when I put my bars on. Once I got the tumblers aligned the right way I was good to go. I made a little tool out of some copper tubing.

Worse case scenario, I'll be in Daytona on Friday morning. I could bring the tool and fix it there real fast!
