Condensation. The moisture is evaporated out of the oil but that area on top doesnt get enough splash to flush it out. Give it a good wipe with a rag and ride

That's the price to pay: the smell of Hydrogen Sulfide + Skunk odor (alkyl mercaptans) and more ...
