In a few days I am going to be installing my RUSH slip-ons, Power commander & K&N Air filter that i purchased from Fuel Moto USA. I just talked to a good friend who works on Harley's part-time and he told me that after I install the power commander that I would have to hook up a laptop to it and do something called "zeroing the throttle." Has anybody else heard of this, done it or is it necessary?
Iam doing basically the same thing, called Jamie at FuelMoto, and he said yes,had todo it.
The power commander came with a disc that gave a brief description of how to do it. Watch that if you have the disc. If not they might have the procedure on the power commander web site, check there as well. I haven't done it yet, but heard it was easy, you might not even have to hook it up to a computer, can't remember. If you cannot find the info, let me know, i will dig out the disc.
Art.
Jamie told me I didnt need to, so I ran it for awhile, then checked it, mine was off a good bit. Its a simple thing to do, takes 2 minutes.
My throttle position showed 11% with the bike idling. The adjustment is easy and takes only a minute. There are tutorials on the power commander web site.
