Default First Gear Whine

I got a '14 Street Glide last week and have been trying to break it in a bit but I've noticed an odd sound. When I pull the clutch in and am downshifting, as soon as I get it into first gear there's an odd whine. It doesn't do it in any other gear and as soon as I let the clutch out the noise goes away. Or if I pull the clutch in and wait to shift into first until my speed will match first gear then it doesn't happen. Any idea what this is?

The 1st gear set in a HD transmission are a straight cut gear for strength purposes. The trade off is a little whine, nothing to be worried about. There are other transmission oils in the world that will help to quiet the noise, I use Bel-Ray Gearsaver 85/140 in mine.

On my 07 SG it was 5th gear w/ Redline fluid.... on my 14 SGS its 1st gear w/ stock fluid. Not gonna worry about it for a few thousand miles then I'll switch to a different fluid.

Its a sound I had to get used to going from a softail, which did not have this first gear noise. All is normal. Switching to a gear oil does make a difference in the overall noise of the trans, including the 1st gear whine when gearing down. I use a name brand synthetic gear oil in 75/140 and am real happy with it.
