Default clunky gear change
hello i have a 2002 wideglide that i have owned for 4 months its covered 16000 miles. i have only done so far 400 miles the problem is clunky gear changes. i have tried adjusting the clutch a few times but still clunky are they just very clunky gear boxes and i should get used to it or should i install new clutch plates any help would be appreciated. thank you

If it goes into gear OK but is "clunky" sounding, you are probably just enjoying the Harley experience. The loud tranny isone of the characteristics of it's personality. Different tranny fluids will quiet it down some. I am sure some opinions for your consideration will follow.

The clunk into first is one of the two best sound in motorcycling. The following, somewhat inconsistent clunks, which always seem like they are shearing away steel are less satisfying, but part of the 'sperience...

+1 I get worried if it doesen't clunk. Try some RedLine ShockProof though, it will quiet it down some.

Mine only did that when I ran Syn3 in it...! F+ is pretty quiet in mine.
