Ok, So after fighting problem after problem doing my 14inch monkey bars I finally start getting it buttoned up I had drag specialties brake and clutch kits clutch goes in no problem brakes not so good the left side line to the caliper blew out while bleeding the brakes so now I am trying to get new parts but was wondering if anyone had a better kit they knew of or if the blow out was just a freak thing and drag specialties is not bad. I am trying to communicate with both drag and the company that I got them from which was American Classic Motors I bought from there Ebay store but they are closed today to get a replacement but thought about over night a new set since bike week in AZ is less than 2 weeks away and really not wanting to go to bike week in a cage..... Opinions please guys
Blowout on a hydraulic brake hose, IMHO, can only be from a defective hose. If it was a new hose, mfg defect. Certainly you are not going to put as much pressure in the system while bleeding it as you would in a panic stop. Old hose, well...
Unacceptable, no matter how ya look at it. Getting parts today, may be problematic...
yea thats what I said about blowing out the hose just dont know if this is a real common thing with Drag Specialties or just **** house luck but if I dont hear anything back by tomorrow from either place Im going to overnight a new drag specialties one, I have not heard bad things about them and cant see them being in business this long selling dangerous brake lines but was hoping to hear back from you fine fellows
Ok so I contacted Drag Specialties and the company I bought it from American Classic Motors the response I got back from Drag Specialties was contact the person that sold you the part to which my response was really that is the response you have when a part with your name on it has a dangerous default with it? his was Sorry, But the moral of my posting this is that American Classic Motors was so very easy to work with I was expecting a bunch of backlash and fighting to get the part replaced not at all the issue first email I got was about how to return it and that a new one would be sent out. some one named Tonia emailed me several times after business hours to resolve my issue. Just letting you guys know of a company worth doing business with
I use drag brake lines all the time and have never seen that happen. Definitely defective. I am sure they have one of the big cable and line companies make the lines for them.
