Ok,I changed out compensator spring pack and bolt,torqued to 165,,still has a terrible hammering sound,,for some reason my friend is convinced its in the primary,as I have put on over 10,000km on it with this noise,,I'm trying to eliminate everything else before I braek into motor,as it dpesnt smoke or lose oil,,and no loss of power ,it run s great,,,But the hammering noise is annoying as hell,,any ideas.

If ya only changed the spring pak, ya still got a wore out compensator.

So I also chnged front motor mount,louder . Yesterday I rained engine oil after 200 km on fresh oil,,drain plug was covered in metal shavings.

There is something definitely wrong in the engine then. Get it checked out asap. Good luck.

So,I pulled the cam chest open,,no shavings in there,,both shoes are still there,,however wear on inside one is approx 80% front about 60%,,need replacing,But for some reason I still dont believe this is what is causing the rattle or Metal shavings

So does anyone know of rattling coming from brken or worn cam chain tensioner shoes?

The major engine damage has already occurred. Time to blow the engine apart and take a peek. If you don't know what you're doin'...don't.

I dont understand how there can be engine damage,and it runs great,,unless its just waiting to explode.
