I'm trying to tell from your pictures exactly what you're showing. Is that left vs. right? Is that the signal light side of the connector? I know you say they "matched on the other side of things." Unless I'm looking at it incorrectly one side vs. the other is -
Yep, what everyone else said. I know from personal experience on my wife's '09 Softail Deluxe, the factory does not always get it right. The standard bulbs will work with the positive and negatives reversed, but LEDs will not.
That's what I was thinking. Of the two pictures the first is righthand with the clip facing up. The second picture is lefthand also with the clip facing up. These pics are of the running lights and blinkers. I talked with the dealership and they are going to make sure the LEDs work correctly while it's there for my 1000 mile checkup.
So I got the wire swapped under warranty at a different dealership. The elec tech recognized the issue without problems and had me fixed in 15 minutes. A background on this, when I took the bike to the dealership for my 1k, they said they would not do the repair as everything was working with the incandescent bulb. I'm happy it's working... But a little upset about the fact my original dealer blew me off because the bulbs were not officially licensed HD products.
Good info here. My LEDs will be here on Monday, so if I have any problems this thread will really help. I'm glad to hear you got it all sorted out, even if you had to go to a different dealer.
