Fired my bike to ride in to work yesterday, was letting it warm up while I got my gear on. noticed the left turn signal was on turned it off and road to work.
On the way home it turned on again with out input from me.
When I got home I could make it come on by wiggling the wires between the tank and tins.
I took the lens off my front light and checked the ground (custom chrome aftermarket) removed the bulb and the rear lights worked as normal
Went to reinstall the bulb and broke it.
Got new bulb and installed.
Now I have this, turn on ignition left light starts blinking, press left turn nothing happens - (Left still blinking), press right turn both sides blink, press both and blinking stops, press left and nothing happens (no Left blinker).
Going to be a fun one to figure out?
Any one see somthing like this before?
I run Incandescent front, and LED's rear.
Any help would be appreaciated.
I usually have some wacky things happen to the Turn signals after I wash my bike. I stopped spraying water directly where the TSM or TSSM is and haven't had the problem since. You might have to pull it and clean it possibly if it got wet.
I had the EXACT same thing happen to mine. Sometimes it would come on by itself and i would shut it off and other times it would only go off if i canceled it with the other turn signal.
The problem was caused be the dimwit who did the turn signal relocate (extend) in the rear. He twisted the wires together and taped them. No solder, no connector. Just tape. One of the wires was intermittently grounding out. I'm certain that is what you are seeing too. You have a bare wire someplace. Figure out what has been messed with and you will find your problem. The factory wiring is pretty good and not much chance of them having a bare wire. Look first at what was changed. You'll find it.

Just a thought...
