I posted yesterday as I was completing my cam install. I installed Andrews 48 and gaterman 1023 with fuelmoto adjustable pushrods. I had issues yesterday and QC was the first one to rescue. I got everything installed.
Fuelmoto are 32 threads per inch pushrod and as per gaterman I should have used 3 turn from zero lash. however at 3 they were too hard to move even after 15-20 mins. I adjusted them to 2 turns and 2 face from zero lash. they were moving fine at the time of adjustment.
I bolted everthing back up. installed fuelmoto supplied map on the PCIII and fired it up... there is a lot of clancking noise I do not know if that what the sound could be.. I am attaching a recording can someone please help me decipher what I should be looking for.
Thanks and let me know if there are questions. I recorded this from 6 inches from the cylinder heads using iphone voice recorder.
if memory serves me fm adjustables are set to 4 turns plus 2 flats which I think is about .140" of preload. You waited 15 minutes then figured to lessen the preload? The spec is what it is to have enough preload to NOT clatter and NOT bottom and thus produce a hydraulic damping of the lifter-to-pushrod-to-rocker. Set it correctly to the spec and wait for the bleed down. Could take an hour depending on conditions. Mine recently took about 40 minutes because the lifters had been in the bike for 1k and were full of 20-w 50.
Edit: use the specs provided to you for preload. Mine for explanation purposes and my components.
What to do next? Since I already fired the bike up !! Can I redo the adjustment? Do I have to remove the pushrods and go through the adjustment from read cylinder to front cylinder?

Yes you can. If you used red loctite per FuelMoto's video, you will need to apply some heat to break the bond. I found I needed to take the pushrod assemblies out to completely disassemble and clean the threads of loctite residue in order to reassemble and adjust easily. Small brass bristle brush and the wife's nail polish remover(acetone based dissolves loctite somewhat). If not an issue just find base circle as you did before and loosen and repeat. Find out what the preload should be and set it to that. Then good to go. Be patient!
