Default Keep blowing the Acc fuse

WEll I think that is whatg it is labeled. It is the fuse that controls the speedo, the Tach, the mileage indicator, the brake light and makes your security light come one when unplugged.

About 3 months ago my brother in laws bike blew this fuse. Same symptoms checked fuses first and no problems since. Well on my trip to the Ca meet and greet mine started blowing. I replaced 10 fuses on my ride home that night. I just did not feel like stopping most the time as I only racked up a coule hundred miles for the entire trip.
Well now mine blows as soon as I turn the key on.

ANy ideas? I stopped by the dealer and they do nto ahve an appointment till the 8th.

Mine did that last year, a few months after installing my DFO. I had to raise the tank to do the work. I took off the DFO before having the dealer pick it up because I didn't want my warranty voided. They could not make it blow the fuse. Apparently I pinched the wiring between the tank and frame while installing the DFO and unpinched it when I took it off. I replaced the DFO and was carefull of the wiring harness and haven't had a problem since.

Mine did it over and over. Exact same problem. Turned out the cigarette lighter was shorting everything out. I never even used it. Took out the lighter and no more problem!!! i found that it was almost fused into female plug.

I had the same problem on a bike that I put chubby bars on. I pinched a wire on the thottle side when I ran the wires.

Went thru this last weekend with my 06 FLHT except it was the Brake/Cruise fuse. Turned out to be a short in the accessory cable that goes back to the tour pack, if I had the factory tourpack with lights and antenna. The wire bundle had come loose and touched the drive belt causing a short.

I can give you a few tips on troubleshooting this. I just went through it. Hope you have a factory manual. What I did was uplug the connectors one at a time until the fuse stopped blowing. Pick up a pack of fuses (15A),as you will burn some up. Mine traced to the throttle side handlebar wire loom. There I found a pinched wire that was causing the problem. There is a connector under the seat for the rear loom and also some connectors in the taillight area. Up front you can unplug connectors inside the headlight housing. Take a look at the wiring diagram and you will seen what this circuit feeds. Take a logical approach to this and it will go much faster. Hope this helps. Roy

instead of going through so many fuses while trouble shooting,
Make a set of adapter cables and connect to a circuit breaker.
When it trips it will reset until you find the problem.
fix the problem then put the fuse back in.
Try this if you have NOT done any mods to bike.
pull cig lighter see if problem goes away
If not try using just front or rear brake This will isolate which one trips it
if it is in the brake circuit.
My old RG used to get moisture in the back of the tail light / brake light housing
and then short out when a I applied the brakes.
