All,
Seems my bike was delivered to me with the cigarette lighter missing. I don't smoke, so I don't "need" it. Just don't want the hole getting water in it and shorting out OR me not paying attention and putting my finger in there....
The stealership wants $ 16.80 for it. Nuts. Is there any other way to fill in the hole? Any waterproof cap or anything else that works? I am stumped.
Just to give me some info. Did you just purchase the bike from the dealer? Was it in for service? If so, would there have been a reason to remove the lighter as in doing electrical work behind fairing? Taking it out of winter storage? Seems odd that they wouldn't just replace it and save a customer over $16 and change. Then again, if you know that you lost it, you can buy a cig lighter plug at almost any auto parts store that come with a rubber plug. Or go to a salvage yard and give the guy a couple bucks and he'll give you a cig lighter out of any car. I would assume they would be the same size.

a-yup...auto zone...$3.95 ..ciggie lighter...and who knows some day you may be broke down on a cold nite and you can use the lighter to start a campfire......
I seem to remember that H.D. has a part that plugs this hole. Check with a parts dept and see. I think the suggestion of buying a lighter from auto parts store is spot on.
